The MINI ABS pump and control module is a combined hydraulic and electronic unit that controls anti-lock braking, DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control). On the R56 and later models the ABS module is closely integrated with the DSC system, meaning a failed ABS module typically triggers multiple warning lights simultaneously.
Common failure modes include pump motor failure (often audible as a grinding noise when the ignition is turned on), solenoid valve sticking (causes spongy brakes or pulls to one side during ABS activation), and module corrosion from water ingress at the connector.
Every ABS module we sell is scanned for fault codes, all solenoid channels are electrically tested, and the pump motor is verified for correct operation. Units with confirmed pump failure or corroded connectors are not offered for sale.
