2014–2024 · Low Mileage · Boost Tested
The MINI F56 Cooper S uses a BorgWarner twin-scroll turbocharger as part of the B48's TwinPower system. The twin-scroll design uses two separate exhaust gas channels to reduce turbo lag and improve low-rpm response compared to a single-scroll unit — giving the B48 its characteristic strong pull from just above idle.
Turbocharger failure on the F56 typically results from oil starvation (often caused by infrequent oil changes), bearing wear from high-mileage use, or a failed wastegate actuator. All turbochargers in our stock are inspected for shaft radial and axial play, and boot-pressure tested to confirm wastegate function before being offered for sale.
