About This Part
The MINI R60 and F60 Countryman rear bench is unique among MINI models in that it slides forward and rearward by approximately 130mm as a complete unit — allowing the owner to prioritise either rear legroom or boot capacity. This feature is not present on the R56 or F56 hatchback.
The bench uses a 60/40 split-fold backrest in addition to the sliding function — each section folds independently, and the fold mechanism operates even when the bench is in its rearward position. Two ISOFIX child seat anchor points are located at the seat bight on the outer rear positions.
The sliding mechanism uses a floor-mounted track with a central release lever. We inspect the track for clean operation and locking engagement at all positions. The fold mechanism is tested for both sections. ISOFIX loops are inspected for integrity.
