About This Part
The MINI rear seat is a 60/40 split-fold bench — the larger 60% section folds independently of the 40% section, giving flexibility for combining passenger and load space. The fold mechanism uses a simple lever-and-cable system that releases the backrest to fold flat onto the seat cushion.
ISOFIX anchor points are mounted into the rear seat structure at the seat bight (the junction of the cushion and backrest). All rear MINI seats from R50 onward have two rear ISOFIX points as standard — these should be clearly visible as metal loops under fabric covers when the rear seat is checked.
Each rear bench is inspected for backrest fold operation (both 60% and 40% sections), ISOFIX loop integrity, headrest retention, and fabric/leather surface condition. We match leather rear benches with leather headrests where possible.
