About R56 Suspension
The MINI R56 uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link independent rear setup — a configuration that gives the R56 its famously agile, go-kart handling character. Both systems are well-engineered but wear predictably over time, especially in demanding road conditions like Lebanon's varied road surfaces. The front struts are the most commonly replaced items — worn struts cause excessive body roll, steering vagueness, and uneven tyre wear. The rear multi-link arms (particularly the rear lower control arms) are prone to bush deterioration and can cause rear-end instability and pulling under braking. Spring perches should also be checked when fitting new struts, as the factory plastic perches crack with age. We stock OEM-specification units sourced from European vehicles, as well as uprated sport-spec components for owners looking to restore or improve on factory handling. All parts can be supplied individually or as a full axle set.
