2011–2016 · R60 ALL4 AWD · Lebanon
The MINI R60 ALL4 all-wheel drive system uses a Haldex-based electronic coupling that distributes torque to the rear axle on demand. The system consists of the transfer case (mounted on the gearbox output) and the rear drive module (RDM) which contains the rear differential and Haldex coupling unit.
Unlike a traditional mechanical 4WD system, the ALL4 coupling is actuated by an electric hydraulic pump that engages the rear axle when wheelspin is detected. The most common failure point is the Haldex pump and filter — a relatively simple service item that is often neglected, leading to coupling wear and eventual AWD failure.
All ALL4 components we sell are tested for correct engagement during AWD simulation, the Haldex filter and fluid are replaced, and the actuator pump motor is verified. We do not sell units with confirmed coupling slip or burned clutch packs.
